Senior Building Surveyor
North East & North West UK
We're looking for Senior Building Surveyors to join our ambitious team in Capita Public Service | Place and Asset Solutions. If you have experience leading projects and are looking to advance your career in Building Surveying, this could be the perfect position for you.
You'll support our continuing growth in the North East and North West of England, with opportunities to work on a wide range of projects, including Technical Due Diligence and Forensic Surveying commissions, across different sectors. Our team works in a hybrid style, this being a mix of site working, home working and office working from our Manchester or North Tyneside office bases.
Joining a diverse multi-disciplinary team, you'll work with colleagues who have different levels of experience and qualifications. As well as building on your existing technical expertise, you'll get the opportunity to further develop team leadership, management and business development skills.

What you'll be doing:
• Lead and develop detailed briefs in collaboration with the client and senior colleagues
• Establish and maintain positive client relationships
• Support business development activities by senior colleagues
• Carry out site surveys (including measured surveys, condition surveys and defect analysis)
• Undertake design and specification work and assist with preparing tender information
• Assist with administering building contracts
• Work on all aspects of professional surveying (including condition surveys, specific defect analysis, party wall matters, dilapidations, access audits and FRAs)
• Liaise with clients, contractors and other consultants (internal and external)
• Assist the team leader with project finances, recruitment, mentoring and team leadership.
What we are looking for:
• BSc in Building Surveying or equivalent
• MRICS or MCIOB, or similar is preferred
• Have several years' experience of advising on commercial properties either in a Building Surveying or Building Control environment
• A good communicator and relationship builder
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
• Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
• Good AutoCAD skills and ability to work with new software and platforms to improve efficiency
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to demonstrate flexible approach to work and willingness to travel/stay away from home for periods as may be required.
