Job Description

Summary
I am a mother to two Autistic children, aged 7 & 9 years. My eldest child is high on the autistic spectrum and has limited communication, and my other child is more verbal and very active.
I am looking for 2 kind, caring and encouraging PAs to develop my children’s interests and hobbies, to access fun social and leisure activities such as swimming and days out. Days out may involve joining in with family days out so that both of my children can be fully supported by an adult. You would be only required to support one of my children at a time.
The role also will involve working with other PAs at times too in order to provide me with respite.
PA’s that can drive with their own car are required for this role. Initially a flexible approach will be required to establish what support will be best for my children.

• Previous experience with SEN children is preferred, but this is not as essential as a kind and common-sense approach to these roles.

Additional duties:
• Organising items ready to go out
• Joining me on shopping trips and days out
• Driving in your car if the employer’s car isn’t available
• Planning and supporting activities related to my children’s interests.
• Accompanying us to appointments when required
• Setting up/cleaning and tidying away activities
Additional requirements
• The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
• Non-smoker due to medical reasons
• Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
• Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission
