Summary
Please refer to the attached job description for full duties of the role. The postholder will join the existing team of community child health and neurodisability paediatricians as well as the wider community paediatric team including specialist nurses, Cared for Health Team, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Overall responsibilities include contributing to the co-ordination and delivery of the operational aspects of the service across the South Tyneside and Sunderland area with specific responsibilities within the Cared for Health assessment service and Medical Adoption. These will reflect national and local priorities including the strategic direction of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and the Division of Family Care. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will also undertake lead role of Named Doctor - Cared for Health. As part of development support, other responsibilities could include general paediatric/neurodisability outpatient contribution. The Clinical Director in Paediatrics & Child Health is Dr Lorna Gillespie; a personalised job plan will be agreed, and annual review and appraisal is essential. The post holder will be expected to develop the service in keeping with local, regional and national guidance. Attendance at mandatory training such as fire safety is expected.
