Our Electrical Design Engineer will ensure the successful integration of often complex avionic systems into new and existing aircraft platforms. The Integrated Project Team manages the whole lifecycle from requirements capture, detail design, liaising with manufacturing and installation, assisting with test, collecting verification evidence, and proving compliance.

This is an exciting technical role responsible for the design and generation of the electrical integration solutions for a wide range of Aerospace programmes.
Working under the technical guidance of the nominated Lead Integration Engineer, the individual will be responsible for the allocated technical work packages.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as a detailed design engineer for the allocated technical work packages identified by the Lead Integration Engineer.
  • Responsible for the generation, modification and integration of system architectures to produce engineering documents including but not limited to; Schematics Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Harness Assembly drawings and reports in accordance with the departmental change management process.
  • Report progress and arisings to the programme Lead Integration Engineer
  • Manage allocated tasks to achieve delivery in accordance with the integration WBS.
  • Work alongside the other technical leads to assure the optimum technical integration solution is achieved for the allocated work packages.
  • Attend and support design review gates.
  • Generate electrical integration designs in accordance with both internally and externally generated Interface Control Documents
  • Assist the engineering business unit's customer design reviews and site / Platform visits as and when required by the programme team.
  • Act as an Liaison Engineer between Engineering, Manufacturing and Production to enable quick resolutions of queries

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Have an appropriate Aerospace Apprenticeship Level 4 Diploma/Level 4 HNC/Engineering degree and/or relevant work experience in the design of electrical and electronic equipment to enable integration of systems, wiring and cable harness design and installation of electrical components.
  • MRO and practical experience of electrical/avionic modification programmes will be considered in support of an application to transfer skills into the Engineering department from a production environment, including Planning, organisation and management skills.
  • A Collaborative approach to teamwork. Experience of working with and knowledge of other Aerospace disciplines e.g. Avionics, Structures, Systems
  • Strong initiative, enthusiasm and drive
  • Experience in electrical and electronic systems design including wiring harness/installation design and Integration utilising industry standard design practices.
  • Have knowledge of EWIS and other relative Aerospace Regulations
  • Experience with the installation design of electrical components into tertiary structure
  • Experience of working with an industry standard PLM system and maintaining configuration control
  • Familiar with Electrical CAD (Siemens Capital Electrical Design) tools and processes
