Summary

At the Environment Agency we aspire for inclusivity to thrive in our workforce. We embrace equal opportunities and flexible work arrangements, ensuring everyone can contribute and succeed.

This role is an exciting opportunity to be at the centre of helping the Environment Agency mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change as part of our work to improve England’s water quality.

You will have a key role in delivering regulatory and other actions from our departmental climate change delivery plan. The work will be varied but will focus on our work on regulation of water discharge activity and climate change.

You will lead the delivery of some work areas and collaborate with other team members to support them in delivering actions that they lead.

You will be flexible and creative, sometimes working in unfamiliar territory and without established processes or guidance to base decisions on.

You will be supported in the role by specialists within the team and wider organisation.

You will be customer focused, seeking opportunities to work with others across government, other Agencies, industry and environmental bodies.

You will identify and implement ways to maximise beneficial outcomes that achieve our climate change and net zero objectives, whilst ensuring that water quality continues to be protected and enhanced.

The Environment Agency will be keen to support you to develop your professional and personal skills to help you succeed and flourish in your career.
