We are looking to recruit a dedicated staff member to support a child in Amble. This child has a diagnosis of Autism, PICA and Epilepsy requires support to access local activities.

Hours of work: 4hrs term-time (x 39 weeks) rising to 8hrs in school holidays.

Hours to be arranged flexibly but will mostly be needed on evenings and/or weekends. During school holiday weeks times can be arranged flexibly with the employer.

Training: Experience preferred but not essential as full training will be provided by the employer. Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety, medication and safeguarding this will take place on-line unless otherwise stated.
Main Duties:

The role is to enable this child to access age-appropriate activities within the local community. Loves water but has no concept of danger, regardless of depth. Enjoys going to the park and again, cannot be left unsupervised at any time.

The child will require support with personal care, but there are no requirements to administer medication.

Rates of Pay: £13.09 per hour

Location: Amble

Personal specification:

· Have experience and a positive understanding about children who have disabilities.· Have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs.· Experience of epilepsy would be an advantage.· Be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised.· Have a positive and caring nature.· Respect confidentiality.· Must hold a full driving license.


Further Information: An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate; cost will be met by Northumberland County Council.
