Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: 536b1d75

We are looking for a committed support worker to allow a 9-year-old young boy in the Hexham area to access social and leisure activities predominantly in the home and local area.

The young boy has autism, severe ADHD, development delay and a sleeping disorder. He has OCD and this includes Aversion/restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). As a result, he has no awareness of risk and danger and needs support to remain independent and access suitable activities.

Main carers will help you to understand his needs and how best to support him and build an appropriate relationship.

The young man loves his home environment. His interests include:

· playing in the garden or at the local park· Cooking· Playing Roblox· Colouring in

The support is to allow him to have time away from his main carer, remain safe and most importantly have fun.

He will need supervision when eating and guidance around this will be provided by those who know him best.

He is not very keen on loud noises and can be a little upset if you try to take him away from things he is interested in. Somebody who can adapt and divert his attention during these times would be preferred.

The ideal applicant will be:

· Patient· Kind· Caring· Have a good sense of humour· Be willing to actively engage in the activities with the child and not just supervise

Rate of Pay: £13.09 per hour
Hours Breakdown:
