The role - Project Quantity Surveyor

As a Project Quantity you will be heading up a large £12m industrial unit in Manchester and will be reporting into the Commercial Manager overseeing the project.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials, labour and services required in the construction and refurbishment of building works in relation to both Estimating and Post contract duties.
  • Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client.
  • Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement.
  • Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract.
  • Preparation of internal cost reporting measures.
  • Advice when required on cost management, or value management.
  • Maintaining quality control procedures.
  • Health & Safety management.
  • Undertaking all tasks in a timely fashion and as required by management.
  • Ensure cash flow is maximized.


Required skills and knowledge?

  • A degree/equivalent qualification (HNC/HND).
  • At least 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying position.
  • Have a strong Main Contractor background.
  • Industrial experience is required.
