Summary
TeacherActive are looking for full time SEN TA / SEN Teaching Assistant in WAKEFIELD, this is an opportunity to work in a specialist school that caters for young people who have severe, complex or profound learning difficulties. This school offers education to 11–19-year-olds across a broad and balanced curriculum. As a teaching assistant your responsibilities will include assisting the teacher with lessons, working 1:1 with SEN students who have complex needs and creating a calm and purposeful learning environment.
We build great relationships with our schools and support staff so we can find the best placements for you. We are looking for SEN TA / SEN Teaching Assistant who wants to gain an abundance of experience in a very rewarding environment.
The ideal SEN TA / SEN Teaching Assistant should have the following:
• Level 2/ 3 in a relevant qualification and/or experience in a care, support work or school environment
• Good communication skills
• A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
