Band 7 Ward Manager – Woodland Neonatal Unit

An amazing job opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed ward manager to join the neonatal team on the Woodland Neonatal Unit, Watford.

We are seeking for a senior neonatal nurse to join our forward thinking, compassionate, family focused neonatal leadership team. To be successful in this role you will need to be a registered nurse (adult/child branch) with a post registration qualification in Neonatal Nursing and experience of excellence in leading all/part of a clinical team in practice.

The post requires someone who is highly motivated to make a difference and interested in being involved to develop the service further.

The successful candidate will have to show a commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and financial stability. You will be expected to use your expert clinical knowledge alongside your management and leadership skills to improve the working lives of staff and enhance patient experience.

Our Neonatal Unit

The Woodland Neonatal Unit is a Local Neonatal Unit (LNU) within the East of England providing care for infants born from 27 weeks gestation. The unit is a 19 bedded unit with two intensive care, five high dependency and 12 special care cots. We also manage a dedicated six bedded transitional care unit within the postnatal ward and work collaboratively with the midwives on the postnatal ward.

The postholder will be working closely with the Neonatal Matron to ensure that the unit maintains the highest standard of care provision and promote best practice within the multidisciplinary team within the neonatal unit.

The postholder will also support the matron and the infant feeding lead to achieve BFI and BLISS accreditation.
