Summary

Langshott Primary School is a popular, over-subscribed school in Horley, Surrey, where the behaviour of the pupils is outstanding. We are looking to appoint a full time, term time only Learning Mentor, to support our pupils.We offer a beautiful setting, with excellent facilities, supportive staff and enthusiastic children. We are committed to inclusive practices, the achievement of high standards and working in close partnership with parents and the community. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Support for pupils of all abilities and needs.To work either as a whole class Learning Mentor, or as a Learning Mentor to an individual, or small group of pupils with an EHCP.To support pupils’ development and promote independence in a safe and secure environment, employing strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance. To support the learning of individuals and groups of pupils as identified in the weekly curriculum planning and to act as a role model, setting high expectations. To focus on groups or individual pupils to ensure their needs are being met within the classroom. To work with other staff to develop and implement the ISPs for pupils. To encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others. To observe, record and support the development and progress of pupils to identify individual needs and difficulties and to feed back to pupils in relation to their progress and achievement. To promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom. To meet the physical/medical needs of the pupil according to their individual care plan whilst encouraging independence wherever possible. Medical needs include the administration of medicines by mouth or other medical procedures provided appropriate training has been given by an appropriate person. To oversee and participate in pupils' break and lunchtimes to ensure everyone is happy and safe. To extend and stimulate language through conversation. Education:
