Summary

ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT - ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

One Ashford Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, based in Ashford, Kent, is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our friendly Finance team.

Joining the Finance Team at One Ashford Hospital, the successful Accounts Assistant will work in a small team of friendly colleagues providing administrative support to the credit control process.

We are looking for an outgoing and friendly candidate who has excellent communication skills and experience dealing with customers in a professional and timely manner. MS Office experience would be advantageous.

HOURS: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT - ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful Accounts Assistant will assist the Credit Controllers in an administrative capacity with the credit control process.

The role will involve:

o BANKING - Post and allocate payments from the daily bank statements. Request copy remittances via telephone, email or Provider portals. Sending payment receipts as required.
o CREDIT CONTROL INBOX - Working as part of a team to manage all emails, responding, filing and escalating as required whilst managing your own inbox.
o DEBT COLLECTION - Supporting with chasing overdue debt via telephone and email, liaising with the Billing team regarding any queries and escalating issues with the Credit Control Lead. Prepare and send Excel file to third party debt collectors.
o LETTER RUNS - Process weekly letter runs for our two hospitals chasing outstanding debt.
o MONTH END - Delete expired credit/debit cards stored in Compucare.


QUALIFICATIONS

o GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent qualification.


EXPERIENCE

o Some relevant experience within an administrative, finance or accounts receivable is essential.
o You will need high attention to detail with the ability to follow instruction working with minimal supervision on occasions.
o Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and be able to work alone using initiative when required.


SKILLS

o A professional and confident telephone manner is essential.
o Excellent written and verbal communications skills both externally and internally.
o Excellent organisation and time management skills.
o Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
o Excellent interpersonal skills.
o Attention to detail and accurate data entry. Proven problem solving skills.
o Ability to remain calm when under pressure and meet deadlines.
o Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business.
o Enthusiastic and a good team player with a collaborative approach to achieving goals.


DESIRABLES

o Previous health sector experience an advantage but not necessary; full training will be given.
