Summary

This role will have a strong presence in the community and will be expected to work from community venues regularly, with some working from the civic offices and opportunities to work from home. About the role
In this position, you'll be at the forefront of our communities, aiding the growth of health and wellbeing services rooted in the community. Collaborating with communities, you'll gather insights to enhance public health initiatives. You'll partner with stakeholders to foster connections and drive positive outcomes across various areas, facilitating the implementation of local projects.



You’ll be supporting key public health initiatives including:

Working with community partners to support Reading to become a Dementia Friendly Community
Supporting initiatives including the Physical Activity for Mental Health Partnership
Working with our network of Community Health Champions
Supporting the Community Wellness Outreach programme, bringing NHS Health Checks to the community
Engaging commissioned public health services with local communities


About you

We seek an enthusiastic, self-driven individual with superb communication skills and a background in community engagement to influence local services and partnerships. Experience in culturally diverse or disadvantaged communities, networking, and initiating local initiatives is essential. Effective communication across diverse audiences and empathetic understanding are vital. The ability to multitask and collaborate within a team is also crucial.
