The client is a leading building design practice who are looking for an experienced, motivated, dynamic individual, with a proven background in Building Physics engineering. The role will involve working on numerous projects, client communication, building physics reporting, and supporting the wider team. The role is based on South West London, and the candidate will be joining an established national team.

Your new role
The client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to join their team. As a key player, you will drive growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding the client base. Your focus will be on promoting sustainable practices and solutions for organisations seeking to make a positive impact on the environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Market Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and emerging opportunities.
    • Analyse competitor offerings and develop strategies to position the client as a leader in sustainability consultancy.
  • Business Development:
    • Generate leads through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives, sustainability officers, and procurement teams.
    • Collaborate with technical experts to tailor solutions that align with clients' sustainability goals.
  • Proposal Development:
    • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches.
    • Clearly articulate the value proposition of the services and demonstrate how they address clients' specific needs.
  • Sales Pipeline Management:
    • Manage the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to contract negotiation.
    • Track and report on sales metrics, conversion rates, and revenue targets.
  • Strategic Partnerships:
    • Identify potential partners, NGOs, and industry associations to enhance the reach and impact.
    • Negotiate collaboration agreements and explore joint ventures.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Environmental Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Proven track record in business development, preferably within the sustainability sector.
  • Strong understanding of environmental and social impact issues.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change.
