Summary
General Responsibilities
It is the job of the cleaners on each shift to keep all areas of the depot clean and free from materials that could result in accidents by way of slips or trips ● To comply with any reasonable instructions given by the duty supervisor as to the cleaning tasks requested ● To behave in a responsible manner in all areas of the garage and offices ● To wear appropriate clothing at all times ● To carry out duties with as little spillage as possible ● Not to smoke in any part of the garage/unless in the designated area ● Inform supervisor of any potential hazards a.s.a.p. ● To work in a proactive/self-motivated manner ● Inform supervisor if any cleaning materials are needed ● To work as part of a small team
● To perform daily and weekly duties as listed:
Daily Duties ● Oiling area - spillages to be cleared immediately ● Garage area .to be kept as dry as possible at all times any spillages to be removed Fueling area to be kept clean and all spillages to be cleared immediately ● All Bins emptied/WCs to be cleaned /mopped/all surfaces cleaned ● Workshop to be swept/ mopped on an ongoing basis ● Lower offices to be hoovered/mopped/swept/dusted ● Upper office/changing area to be vacuumed/dusted /cleaned
Morning Duties ● Disarm Alarm ● Turn on extractor fans ● Open gates (padlocks to be stored in letterbox) and shutters (padlock leave on shutter) ● Open roller shutter and unlock main office entrance door and check emergency doors are unlocked and clear of obstruction
Duties to be carried out on an ongoing basis as and when needed ● Clean exterior of coaches with coach wash/brush/clean interior of coaches. Sweep/mop/tidy curtains/clean any rubbish on seats/ashtrays/pull seats upright/armrests up/clean WC area keep clean/replace rolls/soap if required.
