Join our NEW Solutions Engineering team as a Senior/Principal Systems Engineering Consultant. If you have proven experience driving systems engineering processes into complex and critical engineering programmes, we want to hear from you.

Working closely with the Head of Solutions Engineering, you’ll be the inaugural member of our newest team. As part of our agile Whitetree team, you’ll make a critical impact on the business and our clients. Showcasing your Systems Engineering capability, you’ll support a diverse range of Defence projects as a valued member of a growing consultancy business that prioritises its people.

What are we looking for?
We’re seeking Systems Engineers with a desire to impact and shape the development of existing and future systems supporting major UK defence assets. Defence industry experience is useful but not essential; however, an analytical mind and a strong client focus are critical, along with a willingness to challenge the status quo.

As a member of our growing Whitetree family, you’ll work alongside many skilled ex-military and defence industry colleagues. Our team thrives in a diverse and inclusive environment, with a culture of empowerment, professionalism, and growth. Your technical knowledge and experience should include:
• Experience in adopting the V-Cycle systems engineering process.
• Experience in requirements development, decomposition, system design and integration, verification, validation, and acceptance processes.
• Experience leading small engineering teams, including supporting the professional development of others.
• Proficiency with Systems Engineering tools and methodologies.
• Skilled in client engagement, working with engineers, specialists, supply chains, and stakeholders to ensure the system design meets customer requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complexity.
• Commitment to staying updated with systems engineering technologies and best practices.
• Registration with the Engineering Council and membership or affiliation with a recognised Engineering body is desirable.
• A bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field or equivalent qualification.
• Current right to live and work in the UK.
• Current SC clearance or willingness and eligibility to undergo a Security Clearance check.
• Willingness to travel as dictated by client needs.

The Role
Our Solutions Engineering team utilises cutting-edge Systems Engineering and Solution Architecting expertise to provide clients with streamlined solutions in a complex, ever-evolving, interconnected landscape. Your day-to-day role will include:
• Driving Systems Engineering thinking and process on client programmes.
• Successfully delivering critical design, assurance, and acceptance project milestones.
• Identifying, assessing, and managing technical risks and opportunities.
• Customer relationship management and development.
• Technical management and leadership.
• Managing and controlling the system development process
• Preparing and presenting technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborating across wider Whitetree teams and client projects.
