Summary

An exciting and highly rewarding leadership opportunity has arisen for someone with the skills, experience, and motivation to support the delivery of adult day services in East Inverclyde.
The Assistant Manager has line management responsibility for a range of roles in day care including leading our experienced team of support workers, so some leadership and/or management experience will be beneficial.
You will have experience of working with older people. A minimum of an SVQ level 3 or equivalent or progressing to SVQ level 4 is essential as well as a willingness to undertake continuous professional development leading to satisfying SSSC Managers of Adult Day Care Service registration requirements.
In addition, you should have strong IT skills and excellent communication skills and a full driving licence with a D1 entitlement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities.

1. Deputise for the manager in overseeing the effective delivery of quality services, which are flexible and responsive to the needs of individual service users and comply with appropriate standards.

2. Take overall responsibility for specific activities, projects and service development, as agreed with the service Manager.

3. Co-ordinate the activities of Key workers / support staff ensuring risk assessments are carried out where appropriate and that care plans are implemented and reviewed for service users on a regular basis.

4. Ensure compliance with all policy and procedures

5. To supervise staff involved in all services delivered by the centre. Ensure that activities are planned and organised efficiently and reflect care plans and service users’ needs desires.

6. Contribute to the management of budgets in consultation with the Administrator / Manager, ensuring that information relating to costs both actual and projected is available to inform effective financial management of the organisation.

7. To work in partnership with all relevant partner agencies and represent Muirshiel Centre in appropriate interagency groups as agreed with the Manager.

8. To ensure that all health and safety measures including food hygiene and infection control are in place and that regular monitoring of review of systems and procedure are carried out reflecting health and safety requirements.

9. Keep up to date with legislation, policy and good practise relevant to the centres activities and ensure a quality assurance system is in place.

10. To ensure effective provision of meals and auxiliary services, support the planning and implementation of menu planning / control, and hygiene arrangements within the centre.


11. To ensure that a training plan and appraisal system is implemented for staff team.

12. When required work collaboration with the Board of directors.

13. Any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the service Manage or Board of Management.
