Your new opportunity

Quarriers are currently recruiting experienced part time Intensive Support Practitioner to join our Countryview Respite service for Children and Families. Countryview is set in the idyllic location in Quarriers Village and provides support to children who have complex needs including medical complexities. The service offers 24 hour support to children and has a sensory room, beautiful outdoor garden with swings and playhouse for children to enjoy time and time again.

As an Intensive Support Practitioner you will work as a team supporting children and adapting care based on individual needs. You will be skilled and an expert in managing conditions and support needs such as epilepsy, gastrostomy feeds, dysphagia, oxygen/c-pap therapy, neurodiverse children with autism, ODD, OCD and Dyspraxia. Some of the children you will be supporting can display distressed behaviour and significant complex trauma and you will be required to use your expertise to offer behavioural support to maintain a safe, nurturing and enabling environment for all.

Working pattern: This is a part time permanent role working 11 hours one night per week.

What you will need to be considered

Essential you hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and HNC. (Please note having both is a requirement, if you do not hold both you must hold 1 and prepared to work towards achieving the other within an agree period)
Experience and knowledge of working with children & families in a similar setting.
Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written to support recording and reporting
Willing to develop and learn where required to support and adapt care based on individual needs.
Ability to offer support to Children, Families and young People including enable rights and deliver person centred care and trauma informed approaches.
Flexible and reliable
Must hold a driving licence
