Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North Lancashire and South Cumbria Breast Screening Team within University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, as an administrator.

The post is for 22.5 hours per week and is a permanent position based in the breast screening unit at Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Working days and hours can be negotiated with the successful applicant to fit the needs of the service.

We are looking for evidence of team working as well as the ability to work independently. Someone who can maintain effective relationships with colleagues across the organisation. Exceptional organisational skills and an ability to focus on, and pay close attention to detail, is essential to this role where long periods of concentration is required.

The candidate must have previous administrative experience, excellent communication skills and have experience in an administrative role. Experience of using Microsoft Office packages, such as SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word and email is also key.

The department is a busy but friendly department and has a strong team environment, with staff needing to cross cover and support each other.

Provide an excellent customer service to front line service users, members of the public and other external stakeholders.

Provide a flexible resource to support the Programme Manager and Administration Manager, in providing an accurate and efficient administrative service.

Participating in all administrative issues relating to service users and patients pathway of care within the diagnostics process for the NHS Breast Screening Programme and Symptomatic Service. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide support to the Radiology team in the proactive management of the screening and diagnostic patient pathway, ensuring the pathway is managed smoothly.

Participating in the effective operation of the call/recall breast screening system adhering to N.H.S.B.S.P guidelines. This will include organisation of own and other team members work.

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
