When you see the world as we do, you see the chance to help the world take better care of its resources, and help it become a better place for everyone. It's why we're looking for someone who's just as committed as we are, to push for genuine change and bring our ambition of Ecological Transformation to life.

We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.

What we can offer you:

  • Yearly bonus scheme
  • 25 days of annual leave
  • Access to our company pension scheme
  • Access to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to
  • One paid days leave every year to volunteer and support your community
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potential

What you'll be doing:
Are you a driven, creative Communications professional? Do you enjoy working on projects and engaging with the community to inspire change?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can demonstrate superb project and budget management skills, alongside a passion for the environment and sustainability, and a real desire to improve recycling in the borough.

As this role is engagement focused there is a requirement to maintain our direct outreach work both on site and in the borough. This could include educating residents when recycling bins are contaminated, and delivering school talks or community engagement events. The team works flexibly both at home and in the office, depending on the needs of the business.

What you'll do:

The Contract ECO Manager for Watford will manage and develop the Education, Communications and Outreach function for the contract and ensure strategic project plans are delivered to meet objectives. You will work closely with the Area ECO Manager to develop community engagement projects to change resident behaviours and improve recycling rates and will be responsible for the budget, timeline and quality of their delivery. You will also be the day to day point of contact for the client and site management team and have responsibility for the business as usual outputs of the team.

The Contract ECO Manager will identify good news stories and feed them to the regional digital and PR team, as well as working closely with this team to achieve regional and contract objectives. You will keep abreast of industry developments and build strong relationships with your client and colleagues at all levels across the contract. If you love working with the community and leading on projects, this is the role for you.

What we're looking for:

  • Project development and management - contributing to and executing strategies to support company objectives.
  • People and budget management - can be project-based rather than as a direct line manager.
  • Experience delivering behaviour change and/or community engagement techniques and analysing results.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Experience of building strong stakeholder relationships and customer management.
  • Ability to identify good news stories and develop them in partnership with the PR team.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field, or significant experience.
  • A full clean UK driving licence and experience of driving in England.

Desirable:

  • Industry knowledge.
  • Understanding or experience of working with local authorities.
  • Experience of visual and textual content production across multiple formats.
  • Advanced understanding of data management and analysis.
  • Understanding of PR, social media, social advertising and digital communications.
