Job Advert
We are looking for someone to join our Team to work 36 hours - days and waking nights - weekly across three different services:
a) Supported Living Service - Supporting a lady to live independently in the community and to maintain her tenancy. Support with every day living skills such as shopping, maintaining the home to a standard, making and accessing health appointments, financial support, accessing group activities outside the home to maintain friendships and learn new skills
b) The “You First” service which provides support to people across Blaenau Gwent. We help people access leisure opportunities as well as doing things like their shopping and going to health appointments. As you will be supporting people out in the community, you will need to have a full driving licence and your own car with cover for business use, as you will need to drive the person you supports vehicle.
c) The Promenade Community Support Service, where we support three young ladies that have some behaviours that challenge.

What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.
· Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, house work, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
· Excellent communication skills/relationship building – supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
· Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and individuality.
· Personal care – Mainly prompting, to help people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
