Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest acute Trusts in the South East and is renowned for its excellent clinical care and friendly atmosphere. Frimley Park Hospital has a large anaesthetic department (54 consultant anaesthetists and 6 SAS doctors) and one of the largest trauma and orthopaedic departments in South East England.

A new elective surgical hub based at Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot has recently been opened. Peripheral regional anaesthesia is practised widely for orthopaedic procedures, including awake hand and shoulder surgery.

Ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia is also performed for other surgical specialities including vascular, breast and colorectal. Regional anaesthesia ambulatory pathways for breast surgery and joint arthroplasty have recently been established resulting in the successful discharge of a patient within 24 hours after a total knee replacement. Frimley has a dynamic acute pain team with established pathways for management of patients with fractured ribs or lower limb amputation.
