Fantastic NEW Deputy Manager Opportunity in Leith


Donaldson Court provides a Retirement Housing with Meals Service to tenants, aged 60 and over, who wish to retain their independence but also want to benefit from leaving the worries of making their own meals each day to someone else.

The Role:


As a Deputy Manager you will assist the Manager to manage the Retirement Housing with Meals service in order to ensure that the tenants receive a quality tenancy management and property maintenance service relating to the provision of their home, a flexible meals service offering high quality, freshly prepared meals and value for money.

You will also support the Manager ensuring all communal facilities offer a welcoming, secure and comfortable environment to tenants and members of the public, and encourage tenant involvement and engagement in making full use of these facilities.

Hours of employment are between 14-18 per week typically organised as follows:



Monday, 9:00am to 1:00pm;
Saturday, Sunday, 9.00am to 5.00 pm, including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.



14 hr contract would be Saturday and Sunday only.

18 hr contract would mean 4 hrs to be worked at another point in the week however day is negotiable, although noted on the Monday does not need to be fixed to this.

The sucessful candidate can work either 14 or 18 hours per week, this can be discussed at interview

Role Requirements:


- Demonstrable work, personal or volunteering experience within a housing, social care or health services setting through which a thorough understanding of the needs of older people and services provided to older people has been gained
- To be able to develop and maintain professional relationships with tenants, relatives, colleagues and other professionals including maintaining appropriate confidentiality
- To have an awareness of the needs and rights of older people in supported housing
- To be able to deal with emergency situations
- Ability to manage and support small staff group (and volunteers if appropriate), experience of supervising a small team would be beneficial
- Qualification in Housing or related discipline, HNC,/SVQ Level 2 or equivalent would be desirable
