An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Learning Disability Nurse to join the Starfish Plus Learning Disability CAMHS team. Experienced Band 5 clinicians who are considering stepping up into a Band 6 role within Starfish Plus are also welcome to apply for the position. Clinicians with a real interest in working with children and young people with a diagnosed learning disability and mental health difficulties are welcomed to apply for the post to join our friendly and supportive team.

Applicants for the role will need to have experience of working with people with learning disabilities in a community health setting as the role includes seeing children and young people different settings including their home and education settings. Experience in supporting people with mental health needs is beneficial. We hope that those applying for this post are committed to reducing the impact of learning difficulties and mental health needs on the child/young person's peer and family relationships.

We work country-wide in Norfolk so it is essential that applicants are able to drive and have access to be a vehicle. Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months.
• To provide high quality support, assessment and advice to children and young people with significant learning disabilities and their families, under the support of Senior Clinicians in the team.
• To provide a range of clinical expertise and design ongoing assessment and interventions under the direction of the Senior Clinicians in the team to meet the child’s changing developmental needs.
• To work as part of a multi-disciplinary Team to ensure multi-professional patient care for children and young people.
• To be committed to reducing the impact of learning disabilities and mental health on the child/ young person’s peer and family relationships.
• Mentoring new colleagues and students in the assessment and intervention support of children and young people open to the service.
• Safeguarding and other relevant associated skills on review and agreement at PDR.
