Summary

**Personal Assistant / Carer Required in Crewe, CW2**

**About Me**

This gentleman is a 43 year old male who has a diagnosed learning disability (dyslexia) and autism since a child. He is being cared by his mum at home for his day to day needs and requirements. This gentleman's home routine is very important as he does not like sudden changes especially in his room and find it hard to trust strangers.

He enjoys spending time at home, listening to music, watching movies and video games. He also likes to help his mum outdoors in the garden. He exercises every morning on his cross-trainer & attends the gym with his brother. The weather plays a big part in his life as this sometimes is a focus for him on how he feels.



**Hours & Pay Rate**

28 hours per week - Days & times to be discussed with employer at interview

£11.44 per hour



**Main Duties**

Supporting to maintain his independent living outside his home life.

Supporting in accessing the community by going to local support groups, shops, swimming, movies etc.

Supporting him to protect himself from harm, exploitation and risks (crossing roads etc)

To drive him to local attractions, parks and areas of interest to him.



The main duties identified in the job description are examples of the expectations required; there may be occasions where you are reasonably requested to provide additional activities to be undertaken inside or outside of the home.

**Supervision**

My personal assistant is accountable to the employer in all aspects of their work. They should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.



**Personal Assistant Specification**

We looking for someone who is kind, trustworthy & who can help this man to continue to grow as individual and build confidence on his independence outside home life.He needs someone who has a presence he trusts and feel safe and secure. Experience dealing with learning disabilities, autism would be of great benefit as it would ease the transition of introducing someone new to his routine.

A drivers licence is essential for this role.

My assistant must respect my privacy and always maintain my dignity.

My assistant must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition.

You must be able to work well independently.

The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure which will be funded through your employer.
