Summary

Job Title: Personal Assistant
Location: Bridgend

Hours of work: 6hrs per week
Possibly 3hrs twice a week (1-4pm) or
2hrs three times a week (1-3pm)
These times may change
Occasional weekend/evening hours

Rate of Pay: £12.75 per hour

Introduction :
A committed, caring and flexible personal assistant is required to support an 8yr old neurodiverse young boy. He is a character, funny, full of energy, and lots of fun. He needs support accessing social activities outside of the home. He has a keen interest in sport, especially football. He enjoys playing football, riding my bike and scooter and meeting dogs. He would like to find someone who shares his interests. He also enjoys having fun in the swimming pool.

There needs to be some flexibility with hours and days of work. Currently he needs someone in the afternoons two or three times a week. These hours may change when his school day increases.

Main Duties:
● Support and encourage him with activities of interest. Likely to include playing football, riding his bike, going to the park, spending time outside, and going swimming.
● Support and encourage him to try new activities and skills to improve his confidence and abilities and self esteem.
● Ensure his safety at all times during your working period.
● Support him to develop independent personal skills.
● Become a friend and a positive role model.
● To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.
● To have fun together.

Person Specification:
● Active and energetic with an interest in football and sport.
● Proactive individual with local knowledge.
● A good sense of humour.
● Caring, honest, responsible, and patient.
● Be nurturing, trauma aware and have some knowledge of PACE and therapeutic parenting.
● Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
● Reliable with good time keeping.
● Able to use own initiative and be self motivated.
● Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
● An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
● Good communication and inter-personal skills.

A full driving license and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.

Benefits
5.6weeks holiday per year (pro rate).
Sick pay at SSP rate if earning £120.00 or more per week.
Training provided to support you in your role.
