The role of Digital Marketing Lead sits within our CMO (Chief Marketing Office). The team you will be joining is well established and working on key initiatives due to the focus Skipton Building Society is placing on putting Customers at the heart of everything we do. In this role you will work closely with the Senior Digital Marketing Leader and Marketing Strategy and Planning Lead.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Leading the delivery of our digital content strategy in line with our overall commercial objectives including developing a detailed content plan along with a clear proposal for content distribution and usage, rooted in intelligence, data and being objective driven.
  • Leading the development and delivery of our SEO strategy along with oversight of all digital channels and alignment of message (both paid and owned channels)
  • Collaborating with key internal stakeholders such as Research, Products, Digital and Intermediaries, to drive the planning and development of content as part of all digital and marketing initiatives.
  • As a ‘hands on’ role you will be writing clear insight driven briefs for digital content, social and creative including managing relationships with external agencies
  • Leading the delivery of brand and propositional content across all websites whilst ensuring optimal conversion rates to optimise performance of our website
  • Proactively looking to develop new styles of content including infographics, video and interactive tools
  • Working with the customer insight team to assess activity and make recommendations for test and learn activity and drive this forward in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Working closely with Skipton Building Societies Creative, UX and Research to ensure all content consistently delivers good customer experience whilst aligning to key commercial objectives
  • Managing any special project work that sits outside BAU activity in line with business objectives and needs
  • Regularly chair the digital delivery meeting, managing priorities and stakeholder expectations

What Do We Need From You?

To be successful in this exciting opportunity we believe you will be able to demonstrate the followingSkills
  • Demonstrable delivery of content that increases targeted traffic through SEO
  • Demonstrable delivery of an AB testing programme, ideally in digital content and journeys
  • Proven ability to influence, engage and work in partnership with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships both within the team, and wider business and with external contacts (agencies / partners) in order to support the attainment of objectives
  • Leadership and development of team members through on-the-job training and/or coaching and also by sharing knowledge and expertise
Knowledge
  • Understanding of delivering a digital content strategy with a focus on SEO
  • Understanding of digital data collection and metrics
  • Understanding and experience of Paid Media including PPC, Display and Affiliates
  • Understanding of Integrated Marketing Campaigns & initiatives across online and offline channels.
  • Knowledge of best practice for social media, content and paid media
  • Ideally you will have up to date understanding of UK Financial Services including the impact of FS regulation and promotions
Experience
  • A proven track record in a similar role
  • Experience of actively updating skills and knowledge in digital Marketing to support with attainment of work related and personal career objectives
  • Proactively looking to achieve best practice in digital marketing
  • Experience of planning own and others workloads (could be direct reports, virtual teams, project work) to support the achievement of departmental objectives
  • Experience of successfully identifying and implementing process and business-related improvements, through knowledge of procedures
