Summary


This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Administrative Technician to join the Communication Aid Service East of England (CASEE) for a Band 3 permanent part-time post. The post is for 21 hours (0.56 WTE) per week, with flexible working pattern available for the successful candidate, e.g. 10-2pm, 5 days per week or similar.

CASEE is one of 14 regional specialised Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Services commissioned by NHS England to provide a consistent, equitable AAC Service across England and is managed within the CUH Speech and Language Therapy Service.

Our service works closely with local therapy teams to provide a service to children and adults who are eligible for a specialised AAC assessment across the six counties of the East of England.

This is an opportunity to join our specialist multi-professional team comprising Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Advisory Teacher, Rehabilitation Engineer/Healthcare Scientist, technical team and administrative support team.

It will be helpful if you have experience communicating effectively with a broad range of individuals who have communication impairment or those who use AAC to communicate. However, whilst AAC skills and experience is desirable, we welcome applications from people who have an interest in AAC and who are committed to quickly develop the necessary specialist knowledge and skills.

To provide professional and efficient administrative and technical support to the CASEE team. Main responsibilities include supporting the CASEE team alongside the team secretary with administrative tasks and some equipment management tasks, including, but not limited to, answering the phone, processing referrals via the electronic patient record, responding to e-mails and supporting the team with creation of paper based resources for client communication.
