Are you passionate about the development of the pharmacy profession, and excited by the current changes happening in pharmacy education? Do you have valuable experience and innovative approaches to the delivery of cutting-edge science to underpin the essential skills of the future pharmacy workforce?

If supporting the next generation of pharmacy students to meet the new educational standards, and helping develop the resilience of prescribing within the pharmacy arena is an ambition you could help meet, then reach out to the Pharmacy team at Teesside University for an informal discussion about joining our team (at s.weston@tees.ac.uk)

Working toward the accreditation of an MPharm programme with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), the current team is looking to expand. Based at the Middlesbrough Campus, our facilities and environment boast a transformation of the Campus Heart through a £300m investment and capital development programme, to support the creation of outstanding, innovative academic programmes, where our work is relevant, and purpose driven.

We believe that innovation powers our steps and are motivated to make a difference through positive social impact. We work in partnership with individuals, businesses, and Foundation Trusts to devise creative solutions not limited by imagination. We work at pace, and are always future-facing, with our teaching, learning and research focused on addressing the challenges of tomorrow, today.

Applications are welcomed from all areas of the pharmacy workforce, as the team at SHLS recognise the important value of a wide range of practice experience in the development of our brand-new curriculum, aspiring to develop graduates who fit the needs of the future employer requirements. You will be supported in your transition into the academic workforce if you have had limited previous experience.

This post is available as Teaching, Scholarship and Professional Practice contract (PHD not essential) designed to enable staff to focus their work on industry engagement alongside teaching or an Academic Contract (PhD essential) to contribute to the School’s growing research activity alongside teaching.

You should hold both a first degree and Masters in a relevant discipline to the subjects delivered within a pharmacy curriculum and practical work experience within a pharmacy sector would add value to your application. A PhD in a relevant subject is considered a desirable criterion. You will use your specific expertise to contribute to teaching, knowledge exchange, enterprise, and business engagement.

Applicants must hold (or be willing to achieve) a relevant Teaching Qualification normally within two years of employment i.e PGCHE/Higher Education Academy (Associate Fellow/Senior Fellow) accreditation, and be a currently registered member of a relevant professional body.

Applicants should provide details of how their current and previous experience maps to our essential and desirable criteria within their application Supporting Statement.
