Birchwood School is a specialist school in Cardiff for children with complex needs associated with trauma and SEMH. Our welcoming approach blends education and care with therapeutic support. Our pupils who have SEMH thrive in small classes with support from a dedicated and creative team of education professionals and therapists. A day in the life of working at Birchwood includes:

- Providing high quality teaching and learning opportunities using a variety of teaching approaches and activities support pupils to make progress towards their agreed accreditations.
- Supporting teachers with the planning, preparation, and assessment of learning opportunities.
- Assisting with the planning and implementation of off-site activities.
- Assisting pupils who require help during morning routines, lunch/break times or with personal care.

Sound good so far? We are looking for people who are passionate about inclusive education, and have:

- Qualification in English & Maths;
- Ability to relate well to pupils and build positive and respectful relationships that are on a professional level;
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
- Must be able to show initiative;
- Ability to offer personal care in a respectful way.

Please note: This job role involves regulated activity with children and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
