About the Job

As a Commercial Officer, you will be working within the Unipart Logistics (UL) Commercial Team to deliver pragmatic commercial
support, working in a way which protects UL’s interests whilst also ensuring that customers find us easy to do business with.
Reporting to the Commercial Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the provision of creative commercial
solutions which support ongoing profitability, ensuring competitive advantage is maintained by putting in place robust commercial
arrangements with customers.




You will be involved across the whole contract lifecycle with the ability to review, understand and draft simple contracts with
little supervision. You will also support more senior members of the team as appropriate and input into the drafting,
negotiation, and commercial management of more complex contracts and other commercial documentation. You will also be responsible
for processes including our NDA process and ongoing management of our contracts database to ensure the smooth running of the
Commercial department.

As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:

* Manage our contracts database and associated processes
* With the support of the legal team and the wider Commercial Team, the review, drafting (where applicable), negotiation, and
agreement with customers of Non-Disclosure Agreements and other simple commercial arrangements
* Support the Commercial Team to complete risk assessments of contracts throughout the contract lifecycle
* Provide commercial administration support to the Commercial team throughout the entire sales and delivery cycle
* Develop an understanding of the different types of risk within contracts and opportunities and the potential different
strategies for mitigating these risks
* Work to support more senior team members on tenders, contracts, and subcontracts
* Work with the Commercial Team and Sector Teams to develop relationships with and understand the commercial approach of Unipart,
its customers and suppliers
* Wherever possible, whilst protecting Unipart’s interests, ensure that customers and suppliers find Unipart “easy to do business
with”
* Provide pragmatic and value-add commercial support to internal stakeholders and the Commercial Team throughout the entire sales
and delivery process
* Assist the Commercial Team in delivering training to internal stakeholders regarding Unipart’s contracting processes




About You

We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this
role!

* Basic commercial and negotiation skills
* Law degree
* Demonstrates a basic understanding of the different types of commercial and operational risk in the Logistics business sector
and can make suggestions of possible resolutions required to manage these risks throughout the lifecycle of a contract
* Basic understanding of contracts and how they are formed, ideally with an understanding of key contractual terms and contract
law
* Experience of creating and implementing new processes
* Good interpersonal and organisational and communication skills
* Customer facing experience
* Strong English language comprehension skills, both written and verbal
* Able to operate in a fast moving, dynamic and constantly evolving environment
* Curious, keen to understand things and ask questions
* Down to earth, approachable, will not take yourself too seriously
