Systems Administrator and Development Officer Grade 8

Description
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Systems Administrator and Development Officer Grade 8 to join our dynamic team. As a Systems Administrator and Development Officer Grade 8, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our organization's information systems, as well as implementing and maintaining the development plan to support the growth of our business.

In this role, you will utilize your technical expertise to administer and troubleshoot our systems, ensuring their reliability and security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement system improvements, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our long-term strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
Manage and administer the organization's information systems, including servers, databases, networks, and software applications
Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement, implementing solutions to optimize efficiency and reliability
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, providing timely and effective technical support to end users
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business needs and develop system functionality to support strategic objectives
Plan and execute system upgrades and migrations, minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity
Develop and maintain system documentation, including configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and user manuals
Implement and maintain proactive security measures to protect the organization's data and systems
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in system administration and development, incorporating relevant advances into organizational strategies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration and development
Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems
Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols
Experience with database administration and SQL
Working knowledge of scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Python
Familiarity with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are preferred, but not required.
