Job Title: Gas Engineer - Mechanical Maintenance
Location: Yeovilton Site
Company Overview:
Due to the continued growth of our partner, we are seeking experienced and qualified Gas Engineers to join our team at the Yeovilton site for our FDIS Contract. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality service and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Role Overview:
We are seeking both Service Engineers and Fault Finding Repair Mechanical Maintenance professionals to undertake a range of heating engineering and plumbing duties at our Yeovilton site. The role involves reactive repairs, servicing of boilers and other appliances, installations, and associated works. Additionally, electrical knowledge or qualification is highly desirable, as the role includes replacing pumps, motors, contactors, overloads, relays, inverters, and actuators.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake heating engineering and plumbing duties, including reactive repairs, servicing of boilers and appliances, and installations.
Install new domestic heating systems in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, industry best practices, and legislation.
Issue notices and certificates required by relevant gas safety regulations.
Update Gas Safety records using electronic or manual documentation.
Acquire quotes for stock and materials required for works.
Provide 24/7 emergency cover as part of the on-call system.
Complete relevant training and certifications as required by regulations.
Maintain regular contact with site supervisor and works coordinators to obtain instructions and resolve working problems.
Record completed works and maintain accurate records of work carried out.
Technical Experience & Qualifications:
Valid ACS qualifications
Full UK Driver's License
BOAS
NVQ Level 3
Gas Safe certification
Valid Asbestos Awareness certification
Working at Heights or PASMA certification
Manual Handling certification
Ability to gain and maintain MoD security clearance
Solid understanding of health & safety and safe working practices
Knowledge and experience of industrial heating and plumbing systems
Experience with oil boilers is highly advantageous
