Carbon60 are interested in speaking with multiple Electrical Engineer's to join our Client's Power Networks Business Unit in the UK.



This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation who are an International Leader specialising in Large-Scale Energy and Construction Projects with plans for rapid growth in the UK over the next 12-months.


As an experienced Electrical Engineer, you will have the knowledge and leadership skills to support the design, development and optimisation of Electrical Power Systems, across various Power Generation & Transmission and Distribution Projects.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop comprehensive Power System Designs to meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Design and implement Protection and Control (P&C) evaluations ensuring reliability, quality, and security of power systems.
  • Support the development of renewable energy projects, integrating Wind Energy, Solar & Energy Storage Systems into the Grid.
  • Conduct power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and transient stability analysis, to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
  • Business Development and Stakeholder Management - Identifying new partners and cultivating existing relationships to pursue future project opportunities.
  • Participate / Support Tenders & Bids
  • Evaluating equipment specifications, including transformers, switchgear, and generators, to ensure compatibility and optimal performance within the power network
  • Provide Technical Leadership / Mentorship to Junior Engineers, striving for continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • External collaboration with industry partners, regulatory bodies and research institutions to ensure the company stay at the forefront of technological innovation.
  • Lead the team / project(s) ensuring safe systems of work, best practice and compliance across all aspects of the working culture as well as power systems.


Qualifications / Requirements:


  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Valid UK Drivers Licence
  • Ideally 5+ years in a similar position
  • Minimum of BSc. in Electrical Engineering or related field (MSc. Preferred)
  • Understanding of UK Energy Regulatory Standards and Industry Trends
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with relevant professional engineering associations (IET, CIGRE etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge with power system analysis software such as PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT, PowerFactory, PSCAD, IPSA or PowerWorld.
  • Experience developing or implementing automation to power network analysis (typically using Python, C++, and VBA languages
  • Passionate and committed to sustainable practices and striving for positive change within the energy sector.
