This innovative secondary school is looking for an inspiring academic to join their mission in developing young minds by ensuring they have the educational skillset to thrive in the future, filling the role of graduate academic school mentor. This role also had the potential of developing you into a trainee teacher for September 2024.

Job Description – Graduate Academic School Mentor

• Provide educational and pastoral support for students in KS3 and KS4 as a graduate academic school mentor
• Passionate state-of-the-art Secondary School – Wallington, Croydon – South London
• Core subject graduate needed – 1st and 2.1 degrees are preferred
• Diverse and multi-cultural catchment area
• Planned teacher training from September 2024
• As a Graduate Academic School Mentor – earn £465 to £500 per week
• Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm
• ASAP start and placement for the remainder of this Academic Year
• Wallington, Croydon – South London

As a graduate academic school mentor, you will work alongside a team of teachers providing 1-1 support as well as group support to lower ability students as well as students with behavioural difficulties. Your main task as a graduate academic school mentor will be to encourage students in their studies using your expertise in a specific subject area.

Being in a low-income area, the students in this school often require specialised pastoral support to help them strive in their studies. This includes encouraging students whilst in the classroom and offering more personalised support by developing positive relationships.

This means you will be required to not only provide exemplary educational support but also be an empathetic individual who can motivate and inspire as a graduate academic school mentor.
