We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a child with additional learning needs in a Primary School based in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a young student and support their educational development. Experience working with children is desirable, but not always needed to be a successful Teaching Assistant. Confidence supporting the child with additional support will be essential, as well as being confident creating a strong relationship and being on hand to help the teacher with preparing the classroom and resources.

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support and assistance to a child with additional learning needs
- Help the student with daily lessons, including reading, writing, and maths
- Assist with behavior management and social skills development
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment for the students
- Monitor and track the progression and communicate regularly with parents

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with additional learning needs is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude

Essential Criteria:
- Enhanced Child Only DBS that is on the DBS Update Service
- Register to the Education Workforce Council (mandatory requirement to work in schools in Wales)
- Be able to provide proffessional based references

This position is a temporary contract, starting in May 2024 until the end of the academic year. As the child may be continuing in the school in the new academic year (September 2024), there is a possibility of the role extending. Working hours are full time, working 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
