Summary

An experienced NHS Administrator is sought to join our Oncology Admin Team as the Team Leader for the Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy (SACT) Suite at LRI.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking for their next career move. This role would be ideal for someone looking to progress in their admin career with long term aspirations to be an Admin or Service Manager.

The postholder will work with the wider team to continuously review systems and processes looking for opportunities to streamline, and will support the implementation of any improved or new ways of working. They will also work as a member of the team to cover staff absences as required. Previous experience of working in outpatient clinics is therefore essential.

The role will involve liaising directly with our patients and their relatives as well as the doctors and all other disciplines of staff.

This will be a busy but rewarding role overseeing the Admin Team in our SACT Suite and it is therefore essential the successful candidate has previous NHS Admin experience and excellent organisational and people skills, is able to work effectively as part of a team as well as having the ability to stand back and manage team members whilst continually prioritising and managing their busy workload.

The Team Leader will already have an excellent NHS admin track record, and in this role will be involved in all aspects of HR Management for designated staff including leave management, recruitment, training, data quality, sickness reporting etc.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
• Support the Admin Manager and Service Manager with the supervision of the SACT Admin Team on a daily basis, also undertaking appraisals and providing training when necessary.
• Co-ordinate the team’s workloads, including the weekly rota making adjustments and re-allocating duties to other team members to ensure continuity of service
• To provide information on a range of data as required by the management team and to assist in accurate booking treatments, ensuring that patients are seen at appropriate times in line with scheduling needs.
• To monitor data quality and letter turnaround times, working with individuals to provide training and support as necessary.
• The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility, including travelling to other sites within UHL if required.
• To ensure the highest standards for patient experience, quality and governance are maintained.
