Summary

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Women's and Children's Clinical Management Group (CMG) as the Associate Head of Commercial Operations leading an eclectic portfolio focused on services with commercial opportunities, specially commissioned funding arrangements, and regional hosting responsibilities.

The post holder will also be responsible for cross cutting thematic deliverables across the CMG, as delegated by the Head of Operations, including matters relating to efficiency, productivity, and governance.

The CMG has a budget exceeding £200m, a workforce of more than 2,000 colleagues, and delivers numerous specialist and tertiary services across our six Directorates of Paediatric Medicine (Children’s), Paediatric Surgery (Children’s), Paediatric Critical Care (Children’s), Specialist Transport (Children’s), Maternity & Neonates (Women’s), and Gynaecology, Genetics, and Leicester Fertility Centre (Women’s).

In post as a senior leader within the CMG, you will be responsible for promoting the vision and values of University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL). This includes leading by example, ensuring demonstration of those values in leadership behaviours, and supporting the delivery of outstanding patient care.

The overriding purpose of this role is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

The post holder will deputise for the Head of Operations in the full range of duties and will have fully delegated decision-making responsibilities during any period of deputising.

The post holder will be responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership to a significant collection of services as well as a wider portfolio of cross service responsibilities in support of the delivery of high quality, effective, and efficient patient care.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
