Summary

We are seeking an individual with a track record of leading the development and implementation of space and workplace management strategies across a complex estate portfolio, potentially in a NHS, education, government or corporate occupier setting. You will lead an in-house team including a Space Manager and Space Planners so leadership skills are key, as is the ability to proactively and positively engage with stakeholders in the realisation of change projects and programmes.

The role would suit an individual that would relish the chance to make a big impact across a complex and diverse range of property and space types whilst playing a key part in delivering an estate that will benefit patients, NHS staff and the wider community.

No agencies please .

The Head of Space Management post is a newly created role with a remit to lead, develop and manage the Trust’s approach to space planning, allocation and management, ensuring that the Trust achieves maximum value and the most effective use of its physical estate. The annual operating costs of the Trust’s estate is significant – in the region of £145m – so this role is key in maximising value and where possible reducing estate size and cost through efficient space management.

At present, the property portfolio comprises of the three principal acute sites, together with a number of satellite properties and space occupied in Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, NHS Property Services’ and Community Health Partnerships’ properties. Opportunities will be considered across other One Public Estate partner organisations e.g., local authorities, blue light services and higher education. This diverse estate portfolio makes for a fascinating challenge from a space and asset management perspective.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
