Summary

We are currently seeking enthusiastic qualified and trained Anaesthetic Support Staff to help manage our increasing activity within our busy but well organised Theatre Department.

The successful candidates will need to be proactive, forward thinking and organised as well as professional, passionate and supportive.


We currently have 10 Theatres and several satellite areas to manage, including Chronic Pain, Paediatric MRI and Endoscopy.

The posts would suit a newly qualified ODPs or Anaesthetic Nurses looking to consolidate their training as well as candidates with more experience. We currently run elective lists in:


- Bariatric
- ENT / ENT Surgery
- General Surgery
- Gynaecology
- Urology
- Trauma and Orthopaedics
- Paediatric General
- Obstetrics



The staff would be happy to meet with prospective candidates for an informal visit and a look around our friendly and welcoming department.


Successful candidates will either be; HCPC registered or soon to be registered as an ODP, or NMC registered (RN1) with the anaesthetic course.

*Please note – this vacancy is not suitable for Overseas Registered Nurses required to take the OSCE exam.

The main duties for this position will include:

- Collecting patients from holding bay into theatre

- Checking patient details prior to surgery

- Assisting the Senior ODP and Anaesthetist with airway management

- Collecting drugs from controlled drug cupboard

- Administering drugs intraoperatively with anaesthetist

- Transferring patients from theatre into recovery room

- Handing over patients to recovery staff
