Job Description

Are you someone kind with a positive outlook on life?
I am a 43-year lady, looking for a chatty and bubbly PA to work alongside me to prep and cook meals, help with paperwork, and most importantly enable me to get out and about for walks or have a drink at a local café.
I had a stroke 3 years ago and until then I was an able-bodied person. I use a wheelchair and have epilepsy so will need someone who is trained in this or someone willing to train.
I am a quiet and anxious person. So having someone who can make me feel at ease and bring me out of my shell is a must. As we get to know each other, I can promise there will be giggles and plenty of laughter along the way.

Candidate qualities:
• Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
• Reliable with good timekeeping
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic, tidy and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Honest, cheerful and bubbly
• Creative
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
• Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common-sense approach to these roles. Epilepsy training is preferred or someone who is willing to undergo training for this.
Employee Duties:
• Cooking
• Moving and handling
• Other relevant duties as required
• Administration
• Shopping
• Transportation
• Access to social and leisure activities
• Companionship

Additional requirements
• The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
• Non-smoker due to medical reasons
• Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
