Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Neurosciences Directorate at the Royal London Hospital as an Associate General Manager on a 12-monthsecondment orfixed term contract.

We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills and experience in operational management. The Associate General Manager will:
• Lead a number of service developments including service transformation.
• Support delivery of existing business plans as well as developing business cases to support service development.
• Support effective financial management across the Directorate.
• Take operational management responsibility for specific services within the Directorate.
• Work with the multi-disciplinary team to achieve sustainable improvements.

The post holder will provide appropriate support to the General Manager and the Clinical Director in the delivery of all operational functions of the Neurosciences Directorate. The individual will have responsibility for defined services and allocated resources.

The Associate General Manager is a key management role and is responsible for the operational delivery of all aspects of the service areas. Key aims are:

• Co-ordinate the operational delivery of all services in Neurosciences at the Royal London Hospital as well as other services within the Division as directed by the Divisional Director of Operations and to ensure the safe and effective use of all resources. Specifically, to take a lead in achieving key performance targets in line with local and national agreements.
• In partnership with the General Manager, Clinical Director and Service Leads take operational management responsibility - with the specialty Lead Clinicians, Matrons, Operational Managers and Heads of Department within Neurosciences as well as within other services within the Division for the delivery of the Division’s financial and operational priorities.
• Provide timely, efficient and effective operational service management support for Neurosciences.
• Support the Clinical Director, Lead Clinicians and General Manager to ensure that the service is responsive, innovative and provides the highest possible clinical and performance standards.
• Lead on ensuring that all performance/quality targets are met.
• Problem solve as appropriate, develop and implement lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues.
• To be a key member of the Management Team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all times.
