Summary

Job Title: Governance Officer
Location: Maidstone (but there is a requirement to work cross-site, and from home, as needed)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Type of role: Temporary on-going

A leading healthcare provider in the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells area is seeking a Governance Officer to join their Trust Management team. As a Governance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Deputy Trust Secretary and Trust Secretary to uphold the highest standards of corporate governance within the organisation.

Job Summary:
The Governance Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, relevant legislation, and the Trust Constitution. You will provide comprehensive administrative support for Board Sub-committees, including minute-taking and acting as a key contact for Committee members. Flexibility and attention to detail are essential as you will work across multiple sites and from home as required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide effective communication across the Trust, ensuring appropriate information flow within and between the Trust Board, Sub-committees, and other stakeholders.
- Produce high-quality written material for governance reporting, including presentations, reports, and letters.
- Organise and plan Trust Board Sub-Committee meetings, ensuring arrangements are managed effectively.
- Support the development and administration of the Quality Governance structure, including providing secretariat services for meetings.
- Adhere to all Trust and departmental policies and procedures in relation to data quality.

Requirements:

- Educated to degree level or with comparable work experience.
- Experience in a corporate governance role, including minute-taking at Board/Committee level.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and web-based portal software.

Desirable:

- Membership of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), or equivalent.
