Hours
A range of shifts available:

Mondays 2.00pm to 9.00pm (7 hours)
Tuesdays 7.00am – 2.00pm (7 hours)
Thursdays 2.00pm – 9.00pm (7 hours)
And an alternating weekend shift: Friday 7.00am – Monday 7.00am.

And a total of 72 hours worked on alternate weekends allowing you to complete 2 weeks work in one weekend. Worked in conjunction with an existing PA, with one weekend on, one weekend off. Sleeping accommodation is provided but the assistant may be required to assist me during the night. This role includes PAID sleeping hours. This shift could be worked by one or two assistants sharing the hours.

For All shifts:

Potential for extra hours to cover for staff holidays and sickness but these can be arranged as requested.

Rate
£11.44 per hour if aged over 21 years

About the employer
I am a disabled gentleman in Kettering (wheelchair dependant) who requires help with day to day living in my own home. I am looking for a reliable (or two) flexible and honest persons to join my current team of assistants. Ideally previous experience of care work would be a requisite but also of importance to me is that the applicant has a good sense of humour, a caring nature and is reliable. Paid training in the form of shadow shifts is available.

Main Duties
• Personal care and assistance (some manual handling is required)
• Helping me in and out of bed using a hoist or rotor stand. Training will be given.
• Preparing meals and drinks and helping me to eat.
• Assisting me in the shower/toilet and help with dressing.
• Ensuring that I take my medication at the right time.
• Domestic work (cleaning, washing, ironing etc).
• Driving me in my own vehicle for shopping, appointments and social occasions.
• Helping me to stay social and engaged in life outside of my home.
• Any other task which the employer may reasonably ask you to do which falls within the scope of the job as a Personal Assistant.

Additional employment information
Previous experience of care work would be a requisite but also of importance are the following qualities and training will be given where required.

The successful applicant will be friendly, able to give empathetic support, while respecting the employer’s independence but also able to take instruction.

A can-do attitude, reliability and honesty are essential.

Full driving licence holder essential, to drive my Motability Vehicle.

Must be flexible, trustworthy and active with a good sense of humour.
