Summary

The Freeman Hospital Catering Department is looking for a Full Time Cook to work as a part of the Award Winning Team, working 37.5 hours a week, 5 days over 7, shifts would be 6.00am to 2.00pm and 10.00am to 6.00pm.

We also pay enhanced Hours for working weekends and Bank Holidays. Please note we are open 365 days a year, shift time cannot be moved due to the nature of the business and the time restraints against us.

You will be in the Freeman Catering Department, and the section you will be working in is the Diet Bay. In this area you will be responsible for checking and cooking patients meals who have allergens or special eating requirements along with cooking for our Nursery for children with Allergens, ensuring the food is suitable for the patients and is correct before it is sent to the ward. Full training will be given.

You will also be responsible for the prep in this area and running the patient belt in a timely manor to ensure the wards receive their food at the correct time.

Some time s you may be asked to perform duties in the main kitchen to assist cook.

In the kitchen you will be identified as a Diet Cook, working in a separate part of the main kitchen to produce allergen free food, and special diets for patients and the Nursery. You Main responsibilities include:
• Gathering numbers for patients with allergens and special diets.
• Cooking IDDSI meals to manufactures guidelines.
• Preparing food for patients with allergens and special dietary requirements.
• Work with the departments Dietitian and other Dietitians around the Trust
• Preparing food for children in the nursery who have dietary needs.
• Running of patient belt.
• Filling in the correct paper work in line with the Department HACCP.
• General cleaning.
• Working in line with food Hygiene regulation.
• May be required to work in the main kitchen.
• May be required to work across sites.
