Summary
The post will serve to provide efficient advice and treatment to a variety of patients
presenting with ENT problems under the supervision of the Consultant Mr N Turner.
The post holder will provide inpatient ward care; expected to undertake weekly ward
Rounds on a rotational basis with the middle grades team; carry out theatre sessions in both main theatres and day surgery, provide clinics and other clinical activities such as working in A&E Department.
There are also additional duties within the service and as such, the post holder will be expected to cover Telephone clinics, to take part in audit activities and to be involved in teaching and training the ENT Junior doctors.
This is a Fixed Term post working Full Time post, Rota orientated – typically 40 hours per week + out of hours supplement. Normal Working Day and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide efficient advice and treatment to a variety of patients presenting
with ENT problems under the supervision of the Consultant Mr Turner
1. Provide inpatient ward care
2. Undertake weekly ward rounds on a rotational basis with the middle
grades team
1. Provide cover in casualty clinics under supervision of a middle grade and Consultant Mr Turner.
2. There are also additional duties within the service and as such, the post
holder will be expected to cover Telephone clinics
1. Take part in audit activities and to be involved in teaching and training the
ENT junior doctors
1. Assist the Consultant in treating patients in review clinic
2. Provide support to junior doctors
3. Provide prospective cover for colleagues absence
