Summary


Permanent Part Time - 27.75 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an established and experienced Podiatrist to join the Blackburn Podiatry Team in the Blackburn with Darwen Locality of Lancashire and S. Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.

We are a rapidly evolving Podiatry department. You will be responsible for delivering Podiatric care in multi-chair clinics across all the area of Blackburn and Darwen as well as in the patient’s home environment, providing a comprehensive range of foot health services to a diverse community.

All Podiatrists within the service are actively encouraged to develop their clinical and professional skills as part of their personal development plan, with access to post graduate training & development and internal preceptorship to help with skills development.

The successful candidates will be put through a local induction programme if required. This will be supported via regular supervision.

To work as an autonomous specialist podiatrist, providing a high standard of evidenced based specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to patients and carers, within the areas of:
• Diabetes / Vascular Assessment / Minor Surgery
• Rheumatology / Bio-mechanics / Renal

To support leadership within the team, to ensure high standards of patient care are maintained.

To actively promote teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within a clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and code of conduct.

To support the development of podiatrists and assistants via knowledge sharing and supervision to ensure competency within the podiatry workforce.

To support or lead on agreed projects aimed at service improvement.



Please note: Work is ongoing to transform adult physical health services across the Pennine Lancashire Footprint supported by commissioners within the Lancashire and South Cumbria system. This transformation aims to ensure service users in Blackburn with Darwen and East Lancashire receive equitable service provision from one service provider. From around summer 2024, the service provider will be East Lancashire Hospitals Trust. Staff employed by LSCFT will therefore transfer from LSCFT to East Lancashire Hospitals Trust around summer 2024 as part of this wider transformation plan
