Would you like to be a part of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Team at HRI?

We are seeking a Registered Nurse Associate to work on Ward 120 HRI, to support patients with acute orthopaedic injuries and conditions through their surgery and post operative recovery period.

As a part of our busy team you will play an integral role in delivering excellent nursing care to inpatients on the ward, supporting patients before and after their surgery and on their recovery journey up to the point of discharge.

You must have the ability to work using your own initiative, be able to prioritise your workload through the course of each shift, work well as part of a team and have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

The ward predominantly cares for orthopaedic trauma patients, however there is the opportunity to care for and become skilled in the care of Major Trauma, ENT & Maxillofacial emergencies - with additional training provided to develop enhanced airway skills including care of a tracheostomy

The ward is a very supportive environment to work in and we will ensure a full induction, supernumerary period and comprehensive speciality training to all new starters

The role of the Nurse associate is to work as part of the MDT (Multi disciplinary team) to provide ongoing assessments and plan implement and evaluate clinical care .

The Registered Nurse Associate will:
• Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with the Trust / NHS Values.
• Be an accountable professional.
• Work as part of a clinical team delivering care that focuses on individual needs.
• Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction of the nurse in charge
• To work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual’s defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the nursing associate role, accessing advice when needed.
• To be flexible in their approach and provide cover according to experience for any area of service specified.
