An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered neonatal nurse to join our Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse team on the Neonatal Unit. The post holder will be welcomed in to a substantial and supportive Neonatal team.

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Neonatal Nurse who can provide clinical expertise in the delivery of specialist care to neonates and their families. You will need to demonstrate leadership within the team, with excellent communication skills and be able to provide a supportive culture for teamwork and learning.

Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust NICU is a well-established level 3 Tertiary unit within the Yorkshire & Humber Neonatal Network. The Neonatal Service comprises of 30 cots in total 5 Intensive Care, 7 High Dependency, 14 Special Care and 4 Transitional care providing a high quality service to the network and beyond. We are currently undergoing an expansion for another 5 IC/HD cots

We aim for clinical excellence and are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated applicants with experience in neonatal nursing. Applicants will be a Registered Nurse with a qualification within the Neonatal speciality and must hold a mentorship qualification.

The post holder will be working clinically as a valued member of the nursing team. You will work in partnership with the Unit managers to provide highly skilled clinical practice, be a role model and provide leadership for a ward based team of qualified and non-qualified staff.

The post holder will be required to co-ordinate the Neonatal Unit on a daily basis and ensure a positive patient experience through the delivery of high standards of evidence based patient care.

The successful applicant will play a vital role within the team in both staff and service development. You will be expected to co-ordinate care on a daily basis. Participation in audits, benchmarking and undertaking some managerial responsibilities will also be a vital part to this role. Good communication and team building skills, and the ability to support and develop staff are essential.

In return, we have 2 dedicated Clinical Educators who provide an extensive induction package and is able discuss development opportunities that we offer and support in a wide range of clinical areas
