Summary

Apply today to work as a Team Leader in Oxford for our client's well- known site, needing a constant security presence and a high standard of security to be met at all times. The role is fast paced, where no two days are ever the same.

The rate of pay is £16.35 per hour.

This is a full-time permanent role working 42 hours per week, you would work 4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights on, 4 off.

You will need to hold a full UK manual driving license and your own transport.

Your Time at Work
Job responsibilities and accountability.

● Medical emergency response - responding to request, 1st aid medical treatment on scene, escalation to and liaising with external services, accident forms, report writing, Corsica.
● 1st aid requests dealt with at Occupational Health Department (out of duty nurse hours of business)
● Accident report writing, medical reports, medical log, transfer requests from OHD to/from hospital.
● Responding to spillages that may have a contamination impact to the environment - oil, paint, solvents, petrol/diesel etc - contain, clean up, escalation, report BA trained, use of gas detection equipment, PPE, spill kits, vetta drainage inflation equipment
● Flood response - pumping, creation of dams, clean up, reporting.
● Plan, organize, conduct and control operations as per the individual site instructions.
● Carry out operational audits of site equipment and paperwork.
● Plan and supervise and conduct on-site training as per training programme.
● To manage all Contract Security Personnel working at the location and take responsibility for the professional conduct, coaching & development of the team.
● To act as a key contact for all daily operational security matters across the contract.
● Be responsible for all security activities & standards of all security personnel, and ensure that all incidents are managed and responded to in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
● Provide a highly visible security presence on and around site.
● To operate internal and external patrols.
● To provide car park patrols and apply restrictions as required.
● Respond to emergencies immediately and request for assistance where required.
● Reporting instances on and around the site.
● Operate search policy as per instructed by BMW.
● Carry out initial investigations and report writing on incidents, accidents, damage, suspicious activities and parking.
● Perform as instructed locking and unlocking duties.
● Ensure that all Policies and Procedures for BMW and G4S are followed.
● To ensure that the security teams are briefed on events or changes in procedures that have been implemented or are due to be introduced.
● Report & liaise on a daily basis with the PA5S and G4S Management teams to ensure effective communication of all matters pertaining to the delivery of a high standard
● professional security & response service to BMW.
● Ensure appropriate training (derived from both internal & external courses) are delivered to individual staff in accordance with their rank / responsibilities & identified training & development needs
● Drive and develop the team in relation to Security Skills coaching and needs.
● Ensure the Health & Safety Files (including Risk Assessments & Tool box Talks) are up to date, accurately reflect the legal & company requirements of Health & Safety legislation.
● Ensure all security personnel are fully informed / briefed in relation to both the WI's, AI's & the H&S documentation.
● Report immediately to the G4S Contract Manager any action or inaction which compromises safety.
● Maintain a healthy and safe place of work, ensuring all posts are in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
● Report missing, damaged or unserviceable equipment to the G4S Contract Manager;
● Cooperate with G4S and the client so that the company can carry out its statutory duty under Health and Safety at work etc Act 1974, and all relevant statutory provisions.
● Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse any property, equipment IT hardware or systems in the interests of health, safety and welfare.
● To provide first line response to all incidents, Fire, Security, Environmental and Health & Safety and manage these in accordance with laid down procedures.
● To provide effective support to the client's Incident Management representative and undertake incident management responsibilities as defined by the client.
● Work in partnership with service partners and customers' representatives, ensuring all aspects of site Security and Fire Prevention requirements are effectively managed.
● To manage the deployment of the Security Team by way of planning, coordination, allocation and supervision via the compiling of rosters etc to cover both duties, holidays and absence.
● Ensure that all staff work in safe conditions, acting upon all reports of accidents and faults and that staff carry out their duties in accordance with procedures and policies.
● To raise the profile of security ensuring that customers are well informed at all times of procedures and processes.
● To manage on a day to day basis the CCTV, Fire and Security systems installations, ensuring that all staff are fully trained and competent in their roles and carrying out their required duties.
● To undertake any other tasks as identified by the G4S Management team or Client being for the good and benefit of the service to the customer.
● Any other duties deemed to be appropriate or necessary to the post.
● Be aware of policy and procedures owned and changed from time to time by G4S.

● To follow any other reasonable, safe and ethical instruction as directed by the G4S or BMW Management team

Staff Management

● Ensure all staff are trained and able to carry out their duties in accordance with site procedures and policies.
● Establish and manage a security team that is well turned out, motivated, well-informed, focused and clear about its role and objectives.
● To carry out ad-hoc welfare and communicational visits to officers on post, ensuring that the procedures in place are being adhered to and concerns raised can be dealt with or highlighted.
● Maintain and follow fair and consistent disciplinary procedures, with appropriate action as necessary.
● Ensure all employees are motivated and trained to the required standard and subject to regular effective performance monitoring.
● To ensure that all new starters have been issued with the correct items of uniform and equipment, that they are formally introduced to their site and that all induction training and documentation has been completed with all RA's read and signed prior to being permitted out onto the plant.
● Play a proactive part in the control of staff turnover by welcoming new starters and refraining from defamatory comments regarding the company and / or site.
● Effectively manage and reduce absence, including the return to work process and acting as point of call for sickness/absenteeism reporting.
● Effectively source cover from within the site team to cover late notice absence.
● Proactively mentor your officers to ensure their responsibilities are being met

Equipment Management

● Control use of radios, Tablets, POP handsets and other equipment, ensuring regular audits are carried out.
● Ensure lawful, safe, efficient and economical use and recording of all supplies and consumables.
● Ensure accurate records are maintained covering all equipment including alarm systems, monitoring and recording devices, reported as defective and ensure appropriate and timely response and repair of equipment.
● Ensure that all equipment is managed, used, monitored and reported defective in accordance with BMW policies and procedures.
● Ensure all BMW equipment is managed in accordance with the site process.
● Ensure daily, weekly and monthly checks are completed with attention to detail and within the predetermined time frames.
● Ensure all site keys are managed and accounted for at each daily handover.
● Ensure medical equipment checks are completed in accordance with site procedures.
● Take full ownership and responsibility for the equipment checks delegated to your team.
● Ensure any missing or damaged items are escalated with a full investigation to both PA5S and the G4S Contract Managers at the earliest opportunity.
● The team leader will be held personally responsible for all discrepancies relating to their shift when assessed at monthly SLA meetings.
● Ensure there are no gaps in the aforementioned checks prior to leaving for a period of rest days.
● Ensure your team are issued with full and well turned out uniform at all times with any discrepancies escalated to the G4S Contract Managers as soon as practicable

Administration Management

● Provide accurate and timely information for the preparation of reports and planning.
● Ensure all extra cover requests are accurately monitored and recorded and escalated to your line manager.
● Ensure provision of adequate information for proper personnel administration of employees.
● To be responsible for the examination and submission of, and actions relating to, all written reports and documentation produced by the Security Staff.
● Ensure compliance with SLA requirements, minimising associated risks to the company and to the customer.
● Ensure all staffing hours are correctly logged into the daily manning sheets and ensure that errors with payroll are dealt with directly & promptly by escalating to the G4S Contract Managers
● Ensure compliance with legal, Company and contractual obligations at all sites, such as the Data Protection Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, procedures outlined in the Company handbook, Work Instructions and Assignment Instructions.
● To be responsive to all email communications from G4S management and the PA5S team.
● The team leader will be held personally responsible for all discrepancies relating to their shift when assessed at monthly SLA meetings

Qualifications

- A Level or equivalent in English & Maths
- NEBOSH or IOSH as a minimum
- FREC 3 or FAAW as a minimum
- Full and current driving licence - HGV is desirable but not mandatory. License to be checked prior to driving company vehicles
- Physically fit to pass a site related medical
- No aversion to working at height or in confined spaces
- Excellent communication skills are essential - report writing, 1-2-1 dialogues, radio communications, log book entries

For this role, security backgrounds are desirable but if you have the willingness to learn, then we will be able to train you to the G4S standards!

You will need to hold a full UK manual driving license and your own transport.

Please note for health and safety reasons, you will be asked questions in regards to wearing breathing apparatus on site.
